Default Finishing at head of chenille jig

Am new to tying and have a question. As I wrap the chenille I don't know exactly what to do when I get to the head. I use a whip finish tool but exactly what do most do to secure the chenille enough to prevent unwrapping prior to the actual whip finish. I understand the finish part it is the part prior to finish I am having trouble with. Thanks

When you get it like you want, take the thread and come behind the chenille (like when its hanging there take the thread between the chenille and the hook point or that end and make a tight wrap) and wrap over it like 2 times to trap it there. Thats all; and then whip finish.

I am stumbling as to how to describe this easy step, sorry for that and I hope you understand what I mean.

Like Skip said. To make it easier, I use a small set of hackle pliers to hold the end of the chenile and provide weight. The hackle pliers make it easier to wrap the chenile onto the hook too. I kinda let the pliers hang down and push them at an angle toward the eye of the hook so that it's easier to make a few turns around the chenile and the hook shank with the thread and I usually throw a few half-hitches on it to hold it tightly before doing the whip finish.
