Sign ups are over and we wound up with only seven tiers. So, here's the
game plan guys: We each tie a total of 14 jigs, 6 each of two patterns and
one of each pattern for the St. Judes auction. This does not include yourself.
If you want the patterns, you'll need to tie any for yourself.

You guys that are stumped for a second pattern, think orange, olive, brown,
green, black, these are colors Smallies love. I don't think they are to fussy
on material. I'm tying two feather patterns with a little flash thrown in for good measure. I've caught many Smallies on these two patterns.

I'll send my address out in about a week to send jigs to.

Enjoy the challenge, can't wait to see the jigs.

Just to add to what CK3 has mentioned...

A black and blue color combination works well in my area for coldwater bass, both green and brown.

    Looking forward to everyone's ties.

While thinking about this swap, I viewed some materials known as Craw-Paws that might be tantalizing to bass when tied into a hair jig. I don't know about their material qualities or dimensions, but they do look like flexible foam pincers.

The Crazy Angler has them. Looks interesting to me. I may pursue them for my own personal use for, perhaps, another jig swap. Particularly, if they're available in brown, blue, black, orange, and olive-green colors.

I have no affiliation or professional relationship with Crazy Angler. Just a thought that popped into my mind.

LMFAO!! Gotta cover all the bases. Too funny, you just brightened my day at work! BTW, have seen those claws and thought about getting some, just haven't pulled the trigger yet. I used to get strips of very thin rawhide that i'd cut up and use as a trailer on bass jigs, but haven't seen them for a while. Whish I could find some again......

Can't wait to get these back as well, should be right about the time my river gets fishable - barring any heavy heavy rain. Gonna do an old stand by of mine and the other will be a pattern I orig. came up with for my fly rod but was weighted too much. The weight combined with my horrible FR casting skill resulted in a few wacks to the back of my head with the fly/jig, so they went into my spinning gear box instead of my fly box. :D They work really good though!!

Sorry CK3 - No hellgies. Those are still un-proven as of yet (and a PITA to tie) but have a feeling they should do the job.

Attica-They may be unproven as of 3/17/10, but as soon as the lake frees up
they WILL be proven!!!! I believe the PITA to tie part, I tried 6 or 7 times to
tie them and mine still look like crap only worse. In fact I had a decision to make.....I could spend the rest of my life trying to tie something that was above my level or enjoy the rest of my life tieing something I could tie:D

Pup-JigginJoe uses them, I got one in a swap.....very craw looking and they come in all sorts of colors. I've never seen a crawfish with blue or green or yellow claws but then, who knows?

Is April 12 still going to be the due date?

I've found a couple of possible 2nd patterns, but I don't have all the materials - not sure the local Gander Mountain has what I need, so am going to have to experiment some w/ alternative materials...

    Thks

Will keep your offer in mind - off to Gander Mtn in a few minutes for a look-see and go from there.

    CK3,

My jigs are finished. I'll try to have them mailed out in a couple of days. Will post a photo of them later this week if that's OK with everyone.

Go ahead Pup! I haven't posted any pics since they changed things around
at photo bucket. Hope I can still do it for the swap. I'll try to take pics after all jigs are in.

Here's a photo of the jigs that I've tied for the swap.

Not a very good photo. Sorry about that.

Will mail them out either tomorrow or Thursday.
