Well I don't see any double talk. Enjoy your swaps. A new space just opened!
agrihawg thats a very valid point.
That's the biggest reason I see for not having one big sign up and then dividing them into groups.
IMO....I think we should keep the "official" jig swap the way it is. The swapmeister determines the size and kind of jigs to be tied. Although, I would think it should always be a crappie jig. If you want bigger "official" swaps, become a swapmeister and set your swap's rules that way. Otherwise quit complaining and start up a big "secondary" swap.
Just my opinion. And if we don't hurry up and get this settled, we're gonna lose a lot of the tiers we've gained over the past year.

So far my little experiment supports what your saying. Very few regulars posting up as quickly as you might see them for a swap.
I do agree though that main swap should be a crappie swap. I don't know if a list will work. It could but if members only sign up to do a swap because of who is in it or running it then it will create a mess beyond a disaster. Members signing up and then drop out because they are not with the person they wanted to be with for a swap master or swapper would make it almost impossible to run it smoothly.
Oh well, whatever we do I hope that we don't start to lose members because they never get into a swap or feel that they have to tie with members at their "skill level" to be in a swap.
I love taking my kids fishing, now if I could just manage to fish at the same time.
Thought this was interesting....it's a list of the swaps, the max number of tiers they were accepting, and the number that signed up.
Swap 1: Max 10 - 10 signed up
Swap 2: No limit - 12 signed up
Swap 3: Max 15 - 15 signed up
Swap 4: Max 20 - 20 signed up
Swap 5: Max 25 - 25 signed up
Swap 6: Max 20 - 20 signed up
Swap 7: Max 20...extended to 25 - 23 signed up
Swap 8: Max 30 - 19 signed up
Swap 9: Max 30 - 27 signed up
Swap 10: no limit - 19 signed up
Swap 11: Max 15 - 15 signed up
Swap 12: Max 15 - 15 signed up

I hope I haven't been complaining or appeared to be doing so. I was just throwing out ideas. I could have gotten in on 3 of the last 6, did swap 9 I think, if I wanted to so I don't have much to complain about.
If I had the time and patience to host a swap I would do one whenever another swap was needed. Hopefully, since it seems to be the most agreed on option, a few members will step up and start swaps when the regular fills up.

i think if you want to host a swap just do it. put a thread in the swap area with what you want to do how many and when it will start and end and thats it. if the one you wanted to get into fills up to fast either start another yourself or if you wish not to be a swap meister ask someone else to start it for ya.

Read post #45. My point being on no limit swaps, you have 12 and 19 signed up. I can't see where many swaps have reached the maximum amount of tiers. That being said, some still complain not enough space?? Rarely does the amount of jigs tied reach over 20. Therefore I don't understand the "I could not get in on time" posts. Many spots are open right??
