I am very Glad to say we are completely Full at this time. I cant believe how fast the slots filled. However i very sorry to say that I am not able to add some of the folks that did want to participate my sincere apologizes to SnakeRiver, Doc Crappie, Score MAster Grubfarmer67, Perch, TXRebel. In the order i listed here is the order that yawl wanted in. So I have decided that if for any reason someone drops out in the next few days I will ask in this order if yawl are still interested in joining. I wish we could of had yawl in on the swap

Next question to the Tiers. Would all yawl like to just kick it off since it filled, in a day and half, I thought it would take a week? What we can do is move the ending date up one week which will give someone more time to start the next swap. I think with such a small amount of people we will not need a month to build 14 jigs. What's yawls opinion. I understand yawl having things to do with the holidays coming up so give yawls opinion.

I'm not opposed to moving the date up by a week or so.

I would have to agree with grub there Considering some of us where not at home at the time the sign up started. I also think 15 is cutting allot of us off since we have been doing upwards of 30 participants now we lowered it down to 15 but that is just my thoughts.

Dont mind me just venting a bit

I sign up only after reading the criteria for the swap thoroughly. The limit on the number of tyers and the schedule weigh on my decision. Any change in this information affects my planning for the swap which includes the design of my jigs. A smaller time frame may result in a very simple design for me.

This is only my second swap. I enjoyed the last one very much, so I signed up again thinking that this one would fit me and assumed it to provide a little scheduling leeway should something unexpected arise during the holiday period.

My personal view is that any criteria or stipulations presented will ultimately exclude someone. I like the 15 tyer limit. If the next swap's limit is more than 15, consider me excluded.

    Default Agree and disagree

I understand where grub is coming from, however I'm retired so time doesn't
affect me at all. Some of the younger (most I would think) have commitments to family and all, so it may take more time to get the jigs done
    in the allotted time.
I'm kinda neutral as far as only 15 tiers. Grub may have the right approach in having a newbie swap. I don't like tieing 25 or 30 all the same, but it gives everyone a chance to get in. I feel that this forum is an opportunity for all
to learn, not just the pro's. After all we all remember the first jig we did and how exciting it was to catch a fish on it and also to compare with other jigs to see what we were doing right or wrong.
The only reason I started the Panfish Jig Swap was so many of us were left
"holding the bag" because of quick fill up of 15 tiers. That's also the reason I restricted swap 11 tiers from entering, thinking they had their own swap going on. Maybe we could have an unlimited swap with every 15 tiers being
a branch of the whole swap. What I mean by that is as soon as there were 15 entrants they would be group A, the next 15 or so would be group B and so on. Then the groups would swap amongest themselves, but the swap would be opened to all. Just a thought!
The reason for encouraging newbies for Panfish Swap was for the newer tyers
to be exposed and thus learn from the more experienced tyers. The problem wth an all newby swap is it would be "the blind leading the blind". That's not how you learn. The experienced tyers give the others a goal or challenge if you will to try more advanced jigs, colors, material and etc. In my case it gave me a challenge to tie smaller jigs (1/100 to 1/32) that I would not normally tie.
Maybe the way to "have the best of both worlds" is to have strict criteria for
the jig swap. For example 1/80 oz jig, maribou, sickle hook. I would not get in that one as I don't feel I have the expertise. A no restriction swap I would get in all of them.
Sorry for the long discertation, but I would HATE for the swaps to end!!!
    Just tossing out some ideas.

Well, personally, I don't want to tie 30 jigs because, as I'm a poor sonofagun, and OSU gets most of my $$$$, I don't have that many jig heads. If the swap allowed 25+ people, I would not have entered, and someone like snake River, grubfarmer, Doc Crappie, Perch, or TX Rebel could have had my spot. I, for one, like the low number of participants. The last two side-by-side swaps seemed to turn out fine, so why not start up another one? I'm sure you could get 20 more eager swappers in a matter of a day.
