Default East side or West side of Rathbun???

Hi all, I plan on heading up to Rathbun this weekend to visit some family and to take my son out fishing. We are hoping to hook into a good mess of slabs while there, but I am unsure on where to take him. I have a smaller outboard so I can't go out too far on the water so does anyone have any recommendations on what side of the lake we should launch at to maximize our catch? Any good arms or coves we should key in on? Thanks.

By the way, how is the spawn at Rathbun? is it over like at the southern lakes or is it on now?

    Thanks again for any help.

    Thanks for the welcome.

Our trip there was as enjoyable as it could be. The weather was aweful with all of the rain and high winds. It made for a tough couple of days on the water. We actually only caught 4 on the lake, but then caught around 30 in 45 minutes below the dam. We liked the area around there and will definately visit again.
