    Default Night Fishing

Does anyone on here do a lot of fishing at night for crappie? I have been told that is the way to go. Any advice on lights techniques would be greatly appreciated. I mainly fish Racoon, Glen Flint, Waveland, Cataract(when it's not up 30ft!),and sometimes Monroe, Geist and Morse(Ramp fees are killing me!) Mainly I would like to know how to do it...What kind of lights and setup for the boat and what types techniques you are using....

    Thanks, JLC

Hi get you 2-3 under water lights, I suggest the Q-Bean white lights they are 15.00 dallors at BPS or Wal-Mart set up before dard under bridges or creek channels that are atleast 20' deep use jigs tipped with minnows or minnows work good.fish get 2 small laterns, i use the one/s at wal mart that are 5 dallors apiece that use 4 AA batteries and get some bug spray put the lights down 2-3 ft fish the outer edge of the lights crappie will stay in the shadows most of the time I start at 10 ft and adjust up and down from there to see what dept they are need anything else PM me

Geist is expensive. Before may 1st it's 12 dollars. After may 1st it's 12 on weekdays and 28 on weekends and holidays. They do have a 7-11 fishermans special on weekends. launch before 7 in morn and off by 11 in morn and get 16 dollars back, thats 7-11 for 12 dollars. This time of year, you'll leave by 10 cause of all the boat traffic. Or take 2 friends fishin and split the 28 for all day of fishin. I did that last weekend, win win for everyone. And we caught over 100 with 9 over 13in. Fishin is real slowwww now.

Never been to the lake, it a little out of my gas to truck ratio. But I would never pay that much to fish any lake per day. There is a lot of good water I can get to with just the 20 buck per year DNR launch permit.
