Default Salamonie - Mt Etna Bridge

Went out last night for a few hours under the bridge on 124 @ mt etna and caught 5 decent crappie and 1 1.5lb largemouth. All on tandem 1/32 jigs and chartreuse curly tail. I would have stayed longer but the mosquitos were frickin horrible!

I see in the TAB where there is a new baitshop in mt etna. I believe it was a convenience store just west of the intersection of 9 AND 124.
I believe it's called crappie and catfish something or other.

There is a convenience store that just opened up there at that intersection but I don't know the name of it and they aren't completely stocked with merchandise or anything. all they have right now is some snacks and drinks. It would be nice if they do open a bait shop in there so theres a little more competition for the others in the area.

Oh, yeah- heres some pics from last night.

The store that opened a few weeks ago at the corner of 124 and 9 is not the new Crappie and Cats bait shop. That is about a mile west of the store on the North side of 124. This bait shop was open for a short while last summer but close by the time Fall came. Only bait shop around Salamonie that sells the Rosey Reds (goldish colored minnows). Infernoxd45, are you talking about the bridge that crosses the little creek East of Mt. Etna where you can see the three old bridge enbutments? Or are you talking about the old bridge enbutment right down my the water in the town of Mt. Etna? Just wondering, thanks for any info!

Just inside Wabash county is Bozarths recreational Resort. Head west out of mt etna on 124 turn north on 700 east and it sits between 500 and 400 south.
They are a campground/ bait store/ Bass Pro dealer, and have a place to eat burgers/dogs/pizza and whatever. Whole line of camping equipment, and sell fising and hunting lic.. Not sure what kind of minnows they have. phone # 765/981/4522.

Thank you very much for the info! Good luck to all at Salamonie. As for me it's been kinda rough my last few trips there.

i fish at the 105 bridge and at the boat launch in Mt. Etna and they now have a snack shop at the corner of 9 and 124 also the bait shop at the entrance to the boat launch is going to open soon there is also a bait and snack store at the intersection of 105 and 124 that sell minnows and other fishing supplies the guys treat you good there, also for those of you who didn't know Bozarths will be hosting another crappie tournament on the 6th of this month i think it's 35.00 per 2 man team 10.00 towards the big fish 25 for the 7 best fish. you have to stop fishing by 3:00 and be weighed in by 4:00. they are having a meeting on Friday the 5th at 6pm at Bozarths.
