    Default Rising water.... Monroe...

We had a heck of a rain in this area... 3-5 inches in some parts. I noticed that monroe raised 1.8 ft overnight...and I am sure is going to be even more in tomorrow's reading. It is 4.3 ft over summer now.

This should put more water up on the buck brush. This coupled with the belief that a lot of the big crappie haven't spawned out yet... Next week could be interesting.

    What ya all think?

I have had great luck when the lake is really up in late may and june. The willows are a good place to get some slabs when the conditions are right. When they start letting it out really fast they pull back to the next level of structure. I can see it going up a couple of more feet if we get some more rain. Possibilities are there.

I live on a feeder creek... and with the additional rain we had in the wee hours this morning plus the 3-5 inches thurs, there is a lot of muddy water pumping in. If the upper end is not chocolate now... it will be shortly. The water was at 542.3 yesterday morning...we'll see where it is when they post this morning's reading.

So when the water is high like this.... target the flooded willows in the upper end?

Good news though... looking at 10 day fcst.... looks like we may finally be getting the dry spell the farmers need to get the crops in. This will be welcome to me....my feet are starting to grow webs between my toes.

OK, just took a look at the latest Louisville lake report and looks like Monroe gained another foot in the last 24 hrs. It is now at 543.3 or 5.3 over summer pool...so has gained almost 3 ft in the last 2 days. I don't have a rain guage, but I think we got another inch here early this morning. I am betting it gains another foot by tomorrow morn. Had someone tell me the other day they would like to see it 4 ft higher to get the water up into the brush. I think they are getting their wish.
