    Default Thoughts on Patoka lake

Thought about trying out walls ramp area this weekend. Anyone have any suggestions or advice on what the crappie are doing there. Probably make the trip up on Sunday.

Well from what i here the spawn is over, but they should be hungry. Walls ramp should be a good spot, heck of alot of standing timber and submerged veg. that way. should be your best bet fishing up that way. anywhere from there back to osbourne ramp. Its tricky to navigate though, lots of stumps.

I fished there last Saturday with two buddies. Overall we probably caught 200 crappie, the only problem was, most of them were less than 5". Only kept 17 fish 9" to 14". You have to catch a bunch of dinks to find a keeper, and it seemed like they were on streaks. We would catch 3 or 4 keepers in one spot, and not catch another one anywhere for an hour, then hit 3 or 4 again. Way too many dinks in the lake, but I don't know how to fix that problem except to learn how to fillet them until they put a size limit on!
