Thread: Rocky Point- Deer creek

I am thinking about throwing a tent in the truck, hooking onto the boat and giving the Rocky Point Marina area a try this weekend. I have never been there and I was wondering if I could get some information. Looking to know about the creek. How big is it and what type of fishing/structure should I expect to see. Also, is there tent camping available on the water? Any help would be appreciated and reports will follow.

Sounds like a plan. I was there once. The quality of fishing is pretty much determined by the Ohio river. Deer Creek, Oil Creek and others sit just east of the Cannneltion locks and dams. IMO this should be a good time. There are awesome crappie in these creeks along with many other species. If keeping fish I would watch the consumption advisories particularly if you have a pregnant wife or young children.

As far as camping I have heard of people pulling campers to Rocky Point so pretty sure there is camping there.
