Nailed some slabs today on a Steuben county lake. Forgot to keep count, stopped when I thought I was close to a limit, had 22. And several real nice bluegills to boot. Biggest was 13 1/2", smallest 9 1/2", but I'd say the average of the lot went 10-10 1/2". Out in 8' of water about 3-4' deep, believe they're staging up. Male/female about equal, females full of eggs but not really loose yet. Get 'em while they're hot....

Fly of the day was a chartreuse/white clauser. Weird, because when I tried a chartreuse tube body I got no takers. Did score some on a red jig head with a 2" white body.

    Boy that felt good.

sounds like a fun day! I had every intention of getting out today but the dreaded "sunday afternoon nap" took over and I had no chance! :D

Yeah, I left the house before that could overtake me. Damned if I got me one case of the Monday flu today here at work. I should go fishi.... err, home before I spread it to others.

It may have been the slow fall. Was at Patoka couldn't buy a bite with 1/16 oz jigs early in the day. I then tied on the lightest smallest jig I could find and quickly I had 3 slabs. Eventually I did go to 1/32 oz tube jig as the day went on the bite improved. It ended up being a very good day.
