    Default J.C. Murphy Lake

I was reading in the Indiana Fish and Game magazine that this lake had an average depth of 3 fow. How do they keep from having a winter kill each year?
The article sounded like it was worth making the trip for, has anyone any knowledge personally on this lake.

I"ll bet there's a bunch that fish it. I used to bluegill fish it years ago, take a mini-vacation and drive over and camp. I'm clear on the east side of the state, it's a bit of a trek for me. Some nice slabs back then, but that must have been 20-25 years ago. Believe they run aerators or at least they used to. Interested in seeing what gets posted, I wouldn't mind going back over some time.

    Default Monroe slabs

Well with the cold front on saturday i new the fish would move back out a little so i fished the brush in 8 feet and a little deeper water in the coves, and 4 hours later it payed off. I limited out and my buddy added 1 keeper to the livewell, which was good cause the 13 gallon livewell was full once you start getting 11 inch plus crappie in it.

This is Willow Slough and it has channels that run through out. It's a great ice fishing lake for gills I hear. I've fished it several times for bass mostly. It's electric only and it's huge. You need a couple batteries and it can be windy. I hear the crappie and gills are biting. full of little willow bushes.

As a dammed wetland has a lot of current and springs. Drownings almost a yearly ice fishing occurrence. Great fishing there is always followed by DNR and duck unlimited panics and draining. Just glad I found Louisiana for retirement. Late 70's after '76 winter were prime time there.
