I didn't get on the water until 1:00 and struggled. Five 9-11" in six hours. Went back to my hot spot from last weekend and couldn't make myself leave it. Carp are on the banks muddying everything up and the females I caught today had eggs that were pretty spotty/bloody. Couple of males with their tuxedos on. This high water has changed things.
Hope to get out earlier tomorrow. Oh... the last two I caught were in 15 FOW down 8'. Water temps were 65. Lots of debris in the lake again. Water is probably 2-3' high.

I will be there also Sunday
Only ended up with six today, and three of 'em were given to me by sportsman223. (Thanks Sportsman!) Ran across him at the ramp after launching this morning.
My three were consistent... 10.5", 11", 11.5". Caught in water between 4' and 15'. The one in 4' was 2' down, the other two were 6' and 8' down in 13 and 15 FOW. Moved around more today and it was hit and miss. I did get into four shorts, the most in one day this year. Water is up I don't know how much, I'm guessing 3-4'. If it comes up any more, we won't be able to get around the detour at the beach, as the road down there will be covered. Still lots of junk in the water.
The wind wasn't bad again today, and about 4pm it pretty much died. That is when I picked up the last two 11''ers.
Rain in the forecast for three days this week which won't help with 'em getting the lake level back to normal. I should be out again on Saturday but probably not Sunday.
Thanks again Sportsman, and it was nice to meet you.

Lake level was 6 to 8 feet up fished from daylight to about 11:30 it was close but managed to keep guide license with 3 most fish were suspended in 12 to 18 FOW , Water temp at the warmest 61.
It was nice meeting you also SkeeterJeff I would have stayed at it all day but I had just gotten off shift that morning at 6:00 and since the fish were not biting I went home to get some sleep.

I didn't limit out but I had the best four days of crappie fishin' that I ever had. I got 94 fillets in the frezzer:D I finally got into them in the shallows also.
Sat. during the day, I just went to spots like I always do with no luck. Dropped off my GF at camp and went back for one last attempt. After a 1/2 hour retieing and untangling and puckin' around, I drifted up in the shallows. So I set the float at 1 1/2 feet and threw the minner to it's death. Man it was so much fun:D as they say, minner in - crappie out:D
Sun was a blast but not like Sat. Got home Sun. nite, looked at the weather and said I'm goin' back.
Worked 1/2 day Mon. and was back on the coon at 3:30:D
Was slow at first then I found another bunch. Killed all my minners, clean all the fish and came home.
I fished the same spot all four days. In my novice opinion, the spawn is on. Will it still be happenin' this weekend?

Closer to 6' but I don't think it's bad. I bet it don't go up more than another foot. But after last year heck this ain't squat:D I didn't take the chilltoon out of the water last yearI think bein' up this past weekend kinda helped me. If it was at summer pool I don't think I would have lucked into findin' em'. I had a very good learning experience. Yeah, If it wasn't for our mothers we could be fishin' Sun.
