Default Anyone get out on Missy Res. this weekend ?

Got stuck working 12 hrs. all weekend , just wondered if the crappie had spawned out and how was the bite. Next weekend will be packed with pleasure boaters but hope to get out early.

If the water temp and lateness of season is like anything here in south central, they are in early stages of the spawn there on the big body’s of water. Even at Ky Lake, the spawn is not over with according to some of the postings on their forum. Good luck this weekend. The zoo begins!

We caught 24 keepers today, 10-13 inches. Threw back a bunch smaller ones. Females are pretty much still full of eggs. Minnows, 3-4 ft deep, in 8-12 FOW.

Fished from shore last evening. Started at the dam and got a few small blacks right up on the rocks. But it was slow. Moved up the resi a couple hundred yards to another spot and did better there. Ended up with 15 keepers including 3 13 inch fish. A guy next to me caught a 14 inch on minnow. I caught all mine on roadrunners. As for the spawn depends on who you ask. Had a guy tell me yesterday he thinks there about done. The bite for me isnt as good as it was a couple weeks ago but i dont think there completely done either.

Yeah some still had eggs. Place i caught most of my keepers is a good spot all year long so hard to judge based on that. Its a feeding area in the evenings you can catch fish there all summer. Last week when i was at the dam there were 4 boats there and 5 guys on the bank..on a weekday. On sunday..not one boat and i was the only guy on the bank there. Caught a couple small blacks there up close but like i said it was very slow there. Headed back tonight to the other spot again will report back how it goes.

Slow tonight for me. Kept 8 fish between 10-12 inches. Mostly males. May change it up and try for some gills this weekend.

Brought home 19, 10_13inch. Most were tens. One or two hear and there. None seamed to be bunched up.
