@dave. I've been meaning to get out to greene/Sullivan this year. They restocked locally last week or the week before just fyi.

@chance. Also never been any where around indy. Usually try to stay away lol. Have seen the have a canoe/kayak trip down the white through the middle of town that we thought may be fun..

@wannabe. I've never fished up around marangeo. We keep talking but talking the kid down to do one of the cave tours. But yall know how that goes.

I haven't done White River. It's cleaner than it used to be but...... I'm not sure about kayaking/canoeing thru town. I know there is a canoe rental south of town on White River near Waverly. It's cleaner down there. There is also good canoeing/fishing on Sugar Creek and Big Blue River north of Columbus. This is the Sugar Creek in south central Indiana, not the one near Crawfordsville. With a kayak, why not try Chinook FWA near Brazil? Several nice lakes, cool, deep and CLEAR. Lots of grass and moss but I've caught a few fish there.

I guess I've never heard of chinook. I kneW there was one but can't think of the name of it. And on the white it was just something I'd found on IN dnr site. There's a launch in Noblesville to broad ripple park. Another from broad ripple to riverside. Idk if we'd do it or not just thought it'd be fun for a couple Ole country boys floating right through town fishing lol

My fishing partner wants to try Chinook in the next few weeks before we go to Patoka. If we can work it in, I'll contact you. My 14' yacht has been out there several times.

@get da Limit if you need I have several copies of the maps for Hillenbrand. Could try to send a pic or whatever if ya wanted. 27 different bodies of water inside of 3600 acres of public land. And that's just Hillenbrand!

Spent entire young life growing up going to Staunton High School in Clay county. (School long gone now) Cut my teeth as a kid fishing the strip pits of Amax Coal and Chinnock mines. A lot of the huge pits are now gone with 3rd strip mine of the 2 largest drag lines that hammered it. Fished pits from Rockville, to Terre Haute up to Greencastle down all over Linton and Jasonville to Bloomfield. Excellent fishing if you can get permission or find the best left to fish. I now spend my time on bigger water occasionally fishing the Cat, Boggs, Lemon, Monroe, Patoka, and couple of times at Brookville and Dogwood. But, if you get a chance hit those pits. Weather needs to change as tired of sitting on my arse. Now located in Martin Co.

INDyak, if your around Indy, really good Crappie fishing at Eagle Creek Res. and Geist Res. I hammered them when I lived outside of Indy as well as Mansfield.
