Went to cataract today with a buddy got there at 1230 launched at cunot. Fished down by the island
caught a few small fish then went to the other end of the lake and tried there. Water temp was 53 at cunot ramp and 47 down by the dam.Started by throwing a jig and didnt find the fish untill about 3.Cuaght 43 keepers biggest was 14 lots of 11-12.5 inch fish. Fish were in 27 to 14 feet of water20 to 10 feet down. I will post pics later.

Thanks for the report. That was a good decision today. Lots of wind though...at least here at my place.

I posted this half asleep last night with crappie still to clean. The fish were down deep in about 20-17 fow. Tried to fish bobbers with minnows the wind was blowing way to hard even for throwing a jig. Tryed a thing I used to do at eagle creek years ago by motoring up in a cove and letting the wind blow my boat back and drifting my baits with 1oz of sinkers on the bottom of the rig and tying 2 hooks about 2 feet apart on the line above the sinkers. This worked like a charm would catch 5-6 fish on every pass. We used the trolling motor to keep the boat side ways to slow the drift down some and keep the lines strait. We made 10 or 11 passes to get the fish we wanted to keep. I hope this will help some of you to change tactics when the weather makes you to be successful. http://i838.photobucket.com/albums/z...20pics/020.jpg

Good Job - looks like you had good catch of nice quality fish. Sounds like you found a good way to beat the wind down there. Anything over 10 mph on that lake really makes it tough as the wind seems to blow right down all of those hollers.
