For not caring about the fishing, it sure is a good lake for fishing!!!!!

It is a flood control lake, thats why its there after all. Goes up like that most every year, and they'll draw it back down pretty quickly.

Would drive an extra 30 miles to go to Salamonie and drive right over the dam at Missisenewa. Just the way it was, seems like if they keep it up it will be right back that way before long.
I thought it was better before, but then I was fishing for smallies.

Never bass fish, just crappie. The crappie fishing was what I was referring to.

I do a bit of everything. Crappie fishing was really fantastic there before they brought it back up, and the first two years. Noticed it slacking a little last year in my opinion. Of course it probably doesn't help that it gets a ton of pressure, and most everyone keeps everyone they catch.

Know I didn't catch anything over about 12" last year, where I had been catching good numbers of 13 and 14's.

Been wondering if we should talk with the corps about doing some cover enhancements there. Get a good enough group together with some ground rules and think it could be vastly improved. Know in the 80's it was a much better fishery for crappie, but then it had a lot more wood.

Think if we are going to do it on a decent size scale we should work on getting the permit from the corps.

I'll try to give them a call on monday and find out the information

If you drop condos you need o contact DNR for this. Good luck dealing with them. But anything is worth a try. If you can get permission I would help with the project.

I asked at the office today, and this is what they told me after I got the run around by the very helpful, but not very knowledgeable ladies at the front desks:

I forget the exact wording but one guy had a paper with info sent from headquarters that stated something like, you would have to have a license from the property manager, which they said would be Mike Renee(not sure of the spelling). They also had a set of rules which most of them are no brainer rules....

The guy I work with seems to know Mike fairly well, I plan on either getting my co-worker to call Mike or calling him myself tomorrow.
