Wish i would have seen this sooner. I've been buying mine off of ebay in lots of 100, then selling them at cost to my fishing buddies. You can save quiet a bit of money that way if you get hung up as much as we do.
RIPPING LIPS LIKE ITS MY JOB!
Can you tell me who you buy them from Strassie or send me a pm....I would appreciate it. Thanks
I had been looking on ebay for several weeks couldnt find these particular bobbers made by carlisle.)![]()
Strassie are they balsa bobbers? I would buy some if they are. Also guys Charlie H said to tie a swivel on your line then add a length of light mono the light mono will break before your main line and the swivel will keep you from losing your slip bobber I thought it was great advice!

I have used the Carlisle pencil bobbers with the bead on the top, as well as the regular Thill bobbers. I switched everything over to the pro series Thill bobbers because my mono line cut small grooves in the top of both styles. The Thill pro series bobbers have a small brass looking insert on the top and prevents the cutting action of your line. Your line will slide though the bobber more freely with less weight. I bought mine through Gander Mountain in Ft. Wayne for $1.99 each.
Kwerdal, that is an excellent tip. I use an improvised version of idea. I use small swivels (#12 black) and have occasionally had the swivel get embedded in the bottom of the bobber. After a while, this will cause your bobber to split. So now I tie on a bead and bobber stop between the bobber and the swivel. This has eliminated swivels getting embedded. Plus the added bobber stop gives you one more level of security for preventing the loss of your bobber.
Here is the order of the hardware I have tied onto my line: swivel, bobber stop, bead, bobber, bead, bobber stop.
I use a small barrel swivel at the end of the line, beldow the slip bobber, a bead between the swivel and bobber.
I then use a snelled hook setup to loop through the bottom of the swivel, if I get hung up and have to break off, all I have to replace is the snell with hook. It works really well.
