I'm interested in knowing the rate of descent for various lures. Can anyone point me to a website or magazine article that explains the rate of descent? For example, how many feet per second does a jig fall based on weight?
Thanks
Bobo,
Im not sure of any site for this. This would be a difficult to determine due to the line diameters, what kind of line, bulk of and what material that is on the jig head. Just too many variables involved with this. Sorry wish I knew of one.
Sounds like a good question to take down to the Indiana fishin' show this weekend.
I'm goin'. Lookin' forward to it. Hell, I might even take my wallet.

I only fish The Coon cause that's where I keep my toon.
If this helps, an 1/8 and 1/2 will fall at the same speed, it is what is attached to it that will make the difference.
1/16 Oz Tube Will Fall One Foot Per Second.. I Think
1/32 - 1ft per sec
1/24 1 1/2ft per sec
1/16 2ft per sec
based on using 6lb test
