Is anyone going to the lake Saturday? I live in far northern Indiana and could meet my brother and his son from Indy at the lake to crappie fish. Forecast is for 15-20 mph SW winds w/ gusts to 30. Can't decide what to do.
Is anyone catching fish in Listen Creek timber suspended? Would the cliffs east of Red Bridge be better? We tried fishing Goose Creek 2 weeks ago w/o success. We did catch some next to the sunken island in the channel just past Goose Creek, but the wind eventually drug us and our anchors over the spot. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I've decided! I am going to meet my brother at Somerset around 8:00. We will be fishing in a black Lund w/ 75HP Honda tiller. If anyone out there sees me, give us a shout. We'll share as much as we know. Good luck.

Sounds like a rough day. The wife and I are going to give it a try tomorrow.
Well, I'm glad we decided to go to ole Miss. My brother and I had a great day, although I will tell you with 20 mph winds she can be tough at times. The bad new first. I too, touched bottom on top of the island. Not bad, but a nick in the prop still. The good news, we ended up catching 26 and keeping 14 fish over 10". Two were right at 12", which was fun for my brother with his new rod. Most of the fish we caught came off of gravel banks next to the timber coves. I looked for fish that were connected to the breaks in 6'-12' of water. Couldn't find a lot of places like this, but the three we caught fish on, worked. Being from the clear natural lakes region of Indiana, it was a bit weird to look in the livewell and not be able to see the fish due to the muddy water we sometimes fish in.

I didn't hurt the prop because I got it shut off in time but i found a tiny leak at the front of the lower unit i am hoping it can be welded without taking the gear set out, I may be done for the year though I am just out of money this is my first summer as a boat owner and the learning curve has been both steep and expensive.
