Started out as a beautiful day with water being pretty calm and fairly clear. Water temp around 54 degrees. Started in 14-18 feet of water and had 4 fish on first four casts. Moved to other locations around the same depth and caught several more fish but only had 5 or 6 keepers. As the rain and wind picked up moved to a protected cove and tried shallower water. Ended up with 22 that made the 10+ inch mark. With most of the bigger ones coming out of 6-7 feet of water. Nothing bigger that 11 1/4 inches today.
Between the wind, rain and water level manipulating going on out there, the bite has been really hit or miss. I spoke to Lee this morning and he and Pete were also out there yesterday. They ended up bringing home 33 I believe he said, but had to drop down toward 9" fish to do that. Their largest was right at 12". Said they caught about 50 or 60 total, just not a lot of size to many of them. Once they can stabilize that lake level things will pick up out there. Was hoping to go today but that rain made Lee and I cancel

Nice catch. Anyone fished Geist lately? A buddy suggested we go there this weekend. Any intel' is appreciated.
BTW, since I'm new to this forum I can't help but ask about the "dead horse" that keeps getting kicked - 17 inchers?

I haven't been on here for a couple of days so you probably were there today. It was down about 4 ft from winter pool Tuesday and falling but I was able to load the boat without going off the end of the ramp at the park.
