I left work early today to take advantage of the nice weather around here today. Hurried home about 3:00 PM, hooked up the boat, got some minnows at the bait store and headed north from Ft Wayne to one of my favorite little private fishing lakes. When I got there, the sign said "ramp closed to the public due to misuse".
I spoke with a guy who was closing his trailer up for the year and he said too many guys had been going there and not putting their 5 bucks in the can (honor system), using gas motors (against the rules) and taking more than their limit (25 per boat).
Too bad. It was a good little fishing hole.
I realize it wasn't anybody here. I'm just saying' too bad for the guys who played by the rules.
Some people just won't do the right thing, and now it is closed to everyone even those who do the right thing. Hate to hear you lost a good fishin hole their hard to come by.
To Whom Much Is Given, Much Is Required
Once word gets out of a good little fishing hole, everyone and plus thier mamma will be out there in no time, abusing the rules, and having no regard for the area. It happens every time, and ruins it for guys who understand what they have.
thats a shame CW but all too commonmaybe you should ask him for a lease type deal for those that play fair? card holders mite treat him better.
give me road runners or give me death!

Same crap up here too!I'm surprised the city has'nt closed the river parks to fishing.People leaving all their crap, beer cans(no alcoholic beverages in park rule)Bait containers, fishing line, anything they don't want to carry to the trash can that's only 30 ft behind them it sucks.Tried to get the bait store guys to put dollar deposits on worm containers just so people would bring them back in,that did'nt fly either.I clean up crap everytime I'm down there and vocalize when I see someone leaving trash.Bout gets my ass kicked sometimes but I get my point across.I fish alot of those small honey hole lakes.I appreciate it,there are no public accesses on them so my "ON" is very special and try to take care of those people.Acase of beer here a x-tra pan of lasagna there ask if they need help when I see them working on a project,it all pays off in the long run. Some people just don't appeciate what they have.I've had guys up here cast their rod out right next to me sit it on the wall walk across the bridge and fish the other side.I love those guys!!Fishing ethics is lost up here on the river especially when the steelies and salmon are running.Everyone and their brother thinks they own the water. That's when those little honey hole lakes are God's gift.Well, guess you know you hit a nerve up here. It's nice to vent every now and then to relieve the pressure Thanks for the outlet.
