Wonder why they are letting out over 1200 cfs and the lake level is below winter pool.

They should stop pulling the lake sometime today. They were targeting a level of 634.0 which is 2 feet below normal winter pool and 5.5' below normal summer pool. They are doing repair work to the riprap on the lake side of the dam. They needed to drop the lake level to reach the lower apron which is normally not exposed. The contract has already been awarded, and plans are for work to begin as soon as the lake level is stabilized. Once the work has been completed, they will bring the lake back up 2 more feet to normal winter pool level.
It is a good time to scout some areas on the lake that normally don't get exposed on a routine basis. :D

Park Ramp is a little hard to load because of draw down. Be careful and be sure and trim you motor way up. I tore up a prop today. Lots of boats out and fishing was slow for us. i love the lake but in the wind and with the drop in lake level had trouble finding them. kept 21 but were of the smaller variety. threw several dinks back. Will either get prop replaced or put her up until spring. Fishinfred

Not sure how bad you tore up your prop, but if it is fixable, I have had great luck using Delaware Propeller. They are in Muncie, IN which is where I used to live. You can visit their web site at http://www.delawarepropeller.com
or give them a call at:
Rob Fink / Betty Fink
1717 N. Walnut St.
Muncie, IN 47303
(765)-284-1539 / (800)-627-7898
Fax (765)284-1539
They can usually get you going for under $100. Marinas will charge you double that for a repair. If it is not fixable, he usually has used props that he had repaired at around 1/2 the cost of a new one. Hope this helps you out!

I went off the end of the ramp today also when unloading. I kept the trailer on the ramp when loading and I hit my prop also. Thank goodness it is stainless steel and I trimmed it up real quick so it didn't get hurt! I struggled with the wind today also. Only had 18 and all but one were 10 1/2 - 11 inches with the one going 12 1/2. Had to watch where you were going as the stumps on some of those long points are now in 1 foot of water. 1/16 oz jigs with chartuse tubes and perch colored minnow bait fished from 10 - 15 feet today. A lot of small fish at 10 feet with most keepers coming from 14-15 feet.

Which ramp is best in low water condition
Does this mean I should avoid the state park ramp and use one of the Cunot ramps? If so, which one? I may take a group of Father & sons out Sunday from our cub scout group and would rather not have any issues at the ramp.

I don't know how much more it has went down but If you use it I would be very careful. I want to thank Team 9 for the info on the prop repair in Muncie. I think I have one located but I plan on saving that address and Tel #. Looks like a wet one tomorrow and cooler on Saturday. Good luck to all who venture out. Fishinfred

That was Drew who had the Muncie prop recommendation. Don't want to steal anyone's thunder :D But I can recommend another just in case. Many of the local Indy dealers used to send repairs over to Precision Propeller. I took mine there directly a time or two and was pleased with the service. Website link below with contact info.
