Cool Fishing on Lake Y
With the weather cooling down we have enjoyed a few trips in search of recreation and relaxation. Took friends spider rigging with minnows and jigs. Producing good results before dark. Enjoying cold refreshments and super conversations.
Watching 4-6 poles in the boat bouncing with crappie and bonus fish. Drifting over schools pulling minnows has been the success formula. Catching various sizes of fish. Largest crappie 14.5" (catfish and bass are the bonus fish). Great way to introduce non-fishing friends to our outstanding recreation of fishing. It has been a real challenge keeping rigs baited with minnows.
Now for the scoop you've been waiting... fishing 10-15' down in 20-30' of water as night approaches 6-10' down (they begin rising in the water column). Discovered by accident red headed jigs tipped with minnows out producing others.
Anxiously waiting for NFL games tomorrow. Some good matchups- really want to see Colts handle TN Titans tomorrow night. Titans will come out strong and likely give the Colts their hardest challenge yet. We are doing great things- wait until everyone comes back healthy! On a similar note... Got to love Favre performing like he did against the Pack. I've liked the Pack before Favre and still do but he's like Manning- if you enjoy football, how can you not appreciate players like Favre and Manning!

Sounds like a great day of fishing and I couldnt agree more on the football part. Been a pack fan for life, still am, but love watching the vikings and farve now, too!
