Like twb9862 said, just a little excitement to rev up the board :D Actually spoke with one of my crappie partners today and was relaying the discussion to him. Turns out he happened to be in the cleaning station on one of the days the guys/catch in question were also there (he was thinking the Wed. before). Said they were really nice guys and great to talk to. Out of Somerset, KY. They had a lot of praise for the fishery, mentioned something to the effect of being as good as L. Weiss down in 'Bama. Just like twb and rdant mentioned, they were spider rigging and were using larger bass minnows. Couldn't find the size they wanted locally, I guess.
Anyway, friend said from what he saw them clean and what carcasses were left on the cleaning table, their fish were just solid Cataract crappie like what many of us are catching, all 10" or better fish. Said he saw one that was probably in the 13"-14" range but nothing bigger. Most all around 11" give or take.
So enough of the big fish drama for now. Hoping the rain doesn't blow the lake out this weekend, but I'm fixing to go somewhere and chase more crappie again.
Good luck to any others headed out this weekend. I'll post if I actually get to go and do any good.
