Thread: Gun Reform- what's the right solution?

The right solution...

1) For starters eliminate ALL social benefit programs. Everyone must work! Is you are disabled or elderly it is your family's responsibility to take care of their own not my tax dollars!
2) Get back to small business and family farms, not corporations. No patents on any food products! (Look up Monsanto!)
3) Learn to help your neighbor and your neighbor's neighbor.
4) Term limits in the government.
5) Publicly "Cane" the those juveniles that screw up! A good a$$ whooping always helps! (Maybe even the parent(s) depending on the circumstance)
6) Start the round up of all illegal immigrants (including so called anchor babies). Spot check all businesses. If they are found to be in violation the CEO, CFO, COO and all board members see #5 above!
7) Eliminate all roll around scooters from Walmart! If you are fat and obese you NEED to walk!
8) All teens must spend a 4yr stint in the military after high school! If you are a drop out then your time starts sooner. No college exceptions! Everyone one of those teens could use more discipline and even learn a vocation and be job ready when they get out of the military. GI Bill covers college if they choose. Time to get away from student loans.
9) Encourage literacy! Help fix the problem when you see it!
10) Take a kid and or adult fishing! Show them how!
11) No more pop machines or snack machines in schools! All schools must make homemade lunches each day school is in session. No Nachos and cheese does not constitute a lunch! We were all taught the food groups and servings from each. Schools must abide by it otherwise see #5. Have class schedules set in such a way that classes are across campus from each other. A little walking goes a long way towards fighting childhood obesity.
12) The ten commandments shall be hung at each and every courthouse, government building, school and public building in this nation! If people don't like it, tough! That is what this country was founded on and we need to take pride in that fact!
13) One chance for appeal of your case on death row. The appeal must occur within 6-12 mos of conviction otherwise fire up the needle. Does it discourage criminal activity? No! But it does eliminate bad seed!
14) All prisons / jails will be working facilities...meaning each and every criminal will be out picking up trash or anything else deemed necessary 12hrs a day 7 days a week. There will be two shifts so we can house twice the number of criminals in the same space. Each night the inmates will have a different cell to sleep in. No place is theirs.
15) Prisons and jails will have no exercise equipment, no color tv, no cable tv only classical music will be played that will be the only entertainment.
16) All guards will be armed with fully automatic weapons and dogs. Any riots will be met with full use of deadly force. No exceptions!
17) No prison sentence longer than 20 years. No time off for good behavior. Three strikes and your dead! If you are that big of a F' up then we don't need you. No life without parole. You will be executed or be working the entire time you are in prison / jail.
18) Movies, video games and tv shows need reform! The violence & gore factor needs to be cut 1/2 - 3/4 of what is is now. This has desensitized people to the point they don't care. (What happened to Little House on the Prarie, Waltons, M*A*S*H and Matlock?)

This is a good start! Once pride, morality and common sense get re-learned into society then we wont have as many of the "out-do" each other killing sprees. Gun control will fall into place because people will care about one another and things will get handled without the government stepping in. Why ask the Feds to do anything? Do it ourselves so none of us can complain about the Government stepping in on every facet of our lives. If we wait for the Feds then we are giving in to one more law.

OK I found this interesting and some things listed were done that way when I was growing up in the 50s, but I got a good laugh at item 7, not that I disagree with it, but it came out of left field and I got a good chuckle out of it.

Bad people have been around since the dawn of time. And contrary to what some might think, they exist in the good ole USA as well and always have. In my lifetime I have seen the Manson family, Son of Sam, John Gacy, Ted Bundy, and the list goes on. This topic is something that touches this board specifically. Being fishermen makes us automatically outdoorsmen. Which in turn means that I imagine a lot of us own firearms. I am not a hunter, just a farm boy that happens to have 7 rifles/shotguns. The only way "Uncle Sam" is gonna get my guns from me is to pry them out of my cold, dead fingers.

We don't need more gun control. What we need are jurors that are willing to give the full sentence to a crimnal. Tell the gov we're putting prayer back in shool and actually punish kids when they need it. ( take away all of their electronics)

We already have term limits. Once they have served two terms vote them out even if its just the dog catcher running against them. Who knows the dog catcher just might be the one that has a good plan.

Lord knows we don't need another community organizer.
