Default Louisville District Daily Lake Report - WOW!

I monitor the Louisville District Daily Lake Report and was amazed at some of the number that I saw today. The one that got me the most is Raccoon (Cecil M. Harden). Jill and I spend most of our spring there fishing for Crappie. The lake was 23.2' above normal summer pool as of 6AM this morning. One guy on Crappie.com reported the water is within 2' of the blacktop at the main ramp in the park, and the rest of the ramps are closed. Cataract (Cagles Mill) is currently 40' above normal pool, although that lake is known to flood easily. Monroe is 14.2' above summer pool, and Brookville is 4.5' high, although yesterday the report said it was 6' high.

The combination of high fuel prices and high water will keep a lot of pleasure boaters off of the water most of the summer. As long as we can launch our fishing boats, we should be able to fish without being disturbed much. I guess every dark cloud has a silver lining, eh?

For anyone interested, the link to the report is:
