Went last Sat. night to a small southern IN lake, Tried the lights in three different locations and never had any baitfish, but did manage about 20 small crappie. Anyone else tried at night?

I've never used them but always read that you should start to see zooplankton and phytoplankton in about 15 minutes making a little cloud around the light and by 40 minutes it should be pretty lively around the light. How long did you guys stay at each spot?

We tried spots that have been very productive for us in the past, and have never had any trouble attracting hundreds of baitfish. We usually have swarms of shad or minnows in 30 min to an hour. The most we got all night was 1 or 2.

Tried the lights on Patoka last week. Used a submersable green light and had hundreds of shad and other baith fish within 30 minutes. Caught a few crappie, but probably didn't wait long enough. The guy I was with wanted to go home.
