Default morse/geist??

i was just curious if anyone has been to morse or geist in the last couple of weekends? i've been fishing geist for about 15 yrs and have done pretty good. i went this morning (sunday) at 5:30 to geist, there were skiers on the lake at 6am. when i was ready to leave, ramp was full. my point... it took me over a hour waiting in an unorganized line to load my boat. it was a joke! i've only been to morse a few times in spring. my question... is morse as busy on the weekends as geist with jet skis, party boats and ski boats?? i can only fish on weekends. both lakes have a fishermans special ramp fee if off water by 11. it's hard to leave the lake when the fish are still biting. today caught over 200 with a limit of keepers over 11". spawn is almost done there and fish heading to deeper water. bluegills are bedding now. any ideas would be great, beside going to a private lake. Any fishing reports out there??? FISH ON!!

I fish both lakes myself, I find that Morse is sometimes a little less crowded, but both are horrible on the weekend. Morse has those early morning water skiers too. One of the nice things about Morse is Hinkle Creek is all idle zone so at least you can get away from it by going in there. I think Geist fish are a little bigger average size.

I hate going to either lake on the weekend, but in the same boat myself.

Hope this helps!
Good Luck!

Morse is not much better with pleasure boaters, or jet ski's. It's definately better fishing Morse and Geist during the week, instead of the weekend. During the weekend, over the summer, I usually wade Morse, but start targeting places like Summit, Westwood, Praire Creek, because they are no wake lakes.

The fish are still biting well at Morse, as well. Up on the north end, I think the spawn is done or very close. On the south end its still going, because that part of the lake is deeper and takes longer to warm up, so it will be going for 2 more weeks or so.

I canoed and fished the gravel pits off the White River this weekend. Had them all to myself. Crappie and LM were actually hitting the Cottonwood as it hit the water. Looked like a hail storm. They were even hitting the Cottonwood tangled on my line above the jig. Kept snagging them in unusual spots on their body and couldn't figure out why. They run smaller but did manage a few 12 inchers and they were full of eggs. All I had was jigs with twisters and had to switch colors often. LM were on fire. Got 2 channels on twisters. It was fish on pretty much every cast until they got used to the color. Point - go for the peace and serenity instead of the trophies and crowds. Save the big lakes for the weekdays.

Hey Rairdog. I canoe the white river on occasion but i dont think i know where those pits are. I go between north of Noblesville and Broadripple, not all in one float, but are they in between there? Are they public or private property?

We used to live in Noblesville close to those lakes. They were hi traffic on weekends then. It is the same way here in Tennessee. We fish at night anyway during the hot weather. Once the fishing gets going in the fall those folks park their boats and we can wonder out during daylight hours. i guess it is their water to.
