Default Morse Lake fishing report

I went to Morse Lake with a friend yesterday, and the weather was beautiful! Caught a lot of fish, three 14"ers, and many 10-12" range. The most productive depth was about 7-9' deep.

Vertical Jigging 3/32nd oz Teezur jighead with 2" lime and Chartreuse Southern Pro tube, no live bait.

Photos of some of the best ones:

A couple of different ones:

Caught a total of about 70 fish

Good Luck to you all!

Nice! Got my fingers crossed that I'll get to head there next Saturday for the first time this year. Hope the weather cooperates. Love that area in the last photo. We've whacked them there good in the fall before. Might be a haul getting there in the jon boat though

Nice Catch. My favorite times to fish are late Fall and winter months. Hunting gets in the way of some good trips though. If I am sitting in a stand, I am thinking I should be fishing. If I am fishing , I am thinking I should be sitting in a stand. Gotta love this time of year.

But I am confused... is this a change of heart by the crappieking or just a slip-up... I mean, what happened to lake X ? Does Morse lake association sponsor his crappie boat along with teezur jigs, B&M, and southern pro?

Good looking fish...

I too, run into the "boat vs stand" dilema, but plan on fishing Saturday and Sunday for the first time in a long time. HHD, I just made 45 lbs of breaksfast and potato sausage, and can't wait to sample it this weekend...

Wink lake X is alive and well

Lake X is alive and well, and it is still my favorite lake! No sponsorship from the Morse lake association. This makes only the 4th or 5th time fishing Morse all year. I have been out on the road a LOT! This was a guide trip, and just had an exceptional day and thought I would share!

I am not only sponsored by Southern Pro, BnM and Teezur Jigheads, I also catch 99.9% of all my fish on some sort of this combination. The only thing that varies is if I tip the jig with a minnow or not, when I am fun fishing, I very rarely even do this. One thing I don't have a sponsorship from but use often is crappie nibbles, even if I am tipping with minnows/crappie shiners.

Good Luck to all!

HT, Jim's pictures put you over the edge looks like...."forcing" you to give up hunting for the fishing on your home turf. The sausage sounds great. I had deer sausage gravy for bkfst on Sunday...but haven't tried the potato combination yet. That will be on the agenda next depending on my trusty smoke pole. For the rest of you, HT has been my "deer sausage mentor" this year and put me onto some great sausage seasoning. Whether fishing or hunting, for me it is all about getting great food that you just can't buy anywhere... and sure beats shopping
