Went to Salamonie last week on Wednesday and fished the 105 Bridge area. Caught about 30 fish in all but no keepers. Hard to believe that there wouldn't be any keepers willing to bite. I am a shorline fisherman but was fishing around all the spots that produce when the ice is on. Oh well. Thought I would share my report. I see there is some Walleye talk on here. The Miss. Spillway sounds like it's boomin'. Anyone know if the spillway below the Roush (Huntington) Res. produces this time of year? Just wondering if it would be worth a shot or not. Thanks and good luck to all !!!

night time is the best time for the eyes....especially in those heavily fished waters down there.....once it starts getting light, they shut off......night fishing with minnow baits is good on up through december......best time below the dam is usually between 11 and 2 in the fall.......in the summer it seems better the first two hours after sunset and the 2 before sunrise..........fish the current edges right on up next to the bank

Went out to the Mississinewa spillway Monday night and landed an 18 inch wally with a rogue. Stayed another hour and left as it was getting chilly! I was with a fellow fisherman and he landed a 22 inch saugeye the cast before mine hit. Hit the lake Tuesday for about three hours and the crappie bite was slow with no real sizeable fish. Maybe I'm in the wrong spots....I haven't fished the lake since early august and it all looks different now!

I've always had my best luck on the stumps east of red bridge. There is a large cove where the lake bends a few hundred yards east of the bridge...But like I said, I went out there the other day and only come home with 6. Threw back a number of smaller ones. They come and they go. To me, it's all about being in the right spot at the right time.
