Thread: IL Lead Sinker Act.

Has been put on back burner, for now. But we should still be concerned because they will sneak it in sooner or later.

I have written to local tv station and Chicago Sen Heather Steans.

Does this law mean no lead at all? Or just split shot sinkers?

From the House Bill I read it will mean NO LEAD AT ALL, sinkers, jigs, any. Have also sent 2 letters of concern on my behalf, and YES SIR, you are 100% correct, this WILL get slipped in at some point! Everyone thought the same back when it was the ban for lead shot for waterfowl hunting, and well you all know the rest of that story......
Personally I am tired of the government trying to "run" everything, and telling us all "what is best" for us to live our lives......

12 Section 10. Definitions. For the purposes of this Act, the
13 terms below are defined as follows:
14 "Department" means the Department of Natural Resources.
15 "Lead jig" means any lead weighted fishing hook that
