    Default Weekend Sauger

    im leaving Thursday to go up to the lake house for the weekend and will be down in the river (carlyle) below the spill way drifting for sauger all weekend and if they dont bite ill run down river and catch some slabs out of the coves...ill be in a black flat bottom with $h!t brown carpet with lil fog lights on the front...i use a hand control TM (go ahead and laugh)it sucks but gets the job done till i get me foot control out the shop...if your out there give me a holler always wanting to put names with faces and i also got a boat load of crappie tackle and need some testers(WHOA FREE TACKLE)....see you guys on the water

    So how was the trip? Water still up and running good? was going to head down myself but ended up going north to sangchris, LOL.... what stuff do ya make?

    Wait...isnt the Kaskaskia flooded below the Carlyle Dam?

    YES, it has been one reason I went north, and after all this new rain tonight it should be running all over the place.

    you have to use the boat ramp below the low water dam and stay to the far left when running up stream to get by the low water dam with out boat damage. henkels updated his report the 24th of this month.

    dont have to worry about hitting anything in the river right now since the water is past flood stage....went down to the river friday morning and fished for about 3hours and ended up with 3 keepers and 1 27in northern pike....went to coffeen friday afternoon and couldnt get a bite....the water temp was 54.7 at coffeen and 39.5 in the river....went today fished for about a hour and landed one around 12in and went home

    Killer. Are you sure you caught a 27 inch true Northern Pike below the Carlyle dam??? Perhaps it was a pickerel? Maybe?

    i know it was somthing that looked like a pike and had teeth and went right back in the water....i dont like fish with teeth but love to eat sauger so its the only reason i traget them...a guy that was out there told me it looked like a northern but might have been a muskie for all i know...i know what bass,bream,crappie and sauger look like and really dont care for the rest but also love to find a mess of white bass...dont care to eat them but fun to catch one after another
