I hope the Sauger cooperate for ya. If they do let us know!
Wait...isnt the Kaskaskia flooded below the Carlyle Dam?
you have to use the boat ramp below the low water dam and stay to the far left when running up stream to get by the low water dam with out boat damage. henkels updated his report the 24th of this month.

dont have to worry about hitting anything in the river right now since the water is past flood stage....went down to the river friday morning and fished for about 3hours and ended up with 3 keepers and 1 27in northern pike....went to coffeen friday afternoon and couldnt get a bite....the water temp was 54.7 at coffeen and 39.5 in the river....went today fished for about a hour and landed one around 12in and went home

Killer. Are you sure you caught a 27 inch true Northern Pike below the Carlyle dam??? Perhaps it was a pickerel? Maybe?
Key, CKJ. I sent you a PM. Thanks.
i know it was somthing that looked like a pike and had teeth and went right back in the water....i dont like fish with teeth but love to eat sauger so its the only reason i traget them...a guy that was out there told me it looked like a northern but might have been a muskie for all i know...i know what bass, bream, crappie and sauger look like and really dont care for the rest but also love to find a mess of white bass...dont care to eat them but fun to catch one after another
