decided since i didnt have anyone to take fishing today to do some shore fishing for a bit. went to dewitt bridge decided against fishing with the other 3,486 people there and moved to another spot ended up with 6 white bass 2 were absoute pigs and a 20 inch walleye. caught numerous undersized crappie but nothing of any size.. ran into one of our board lurkers who had caught a half dozen nice channels and half dozen or so nice whites. gonna take boat out tommorow and hit west finger of lake for some crappie(hopefully). will post pic in a while when i go to clean the fish

My son and I kept 21 crappie yesterday morning.9.5 to 11.25 inches.Caught at dewitt and 48 bridges. We caught several dink pure stripers but turned em loose.Saw a guy catch a good size flathead also.Wish they'd turn the plant off for awhile, might keep some of those flocks of people outta there.Gets sickening to see guys fight and cry over a few spots.I remember back in the days, when a guy could go to the bridges and have it all to himself and a couple buddies. If the world ended tomorrow, those guys would rather trample each other for a few feet of fishin space, then spend time with their families, whata shame.
It's just plain nuts at the bridges anymore. There have been a few times that i've actually seen people fist fight over a 5 foot space to fish.Seen a couple of em argueing the other day over a spot. Also,if there is a warden that reads these posts, let the wardens who patrol the clinton lake area know that they can make the state a lot of money by catching those guys over there that are keeping 5-8 inch crappie and keeping way over their limit.Seen it twice yesterday and once last sunday.

thats exactly why i wont fish at the dewitt bridge except for in severe weather. 48 bridge doesnt get as bad but then there isnt as many crappie there. i had my best days on dewitt in a snowstorm and a driving ice storm and was only one there. i drove past this morning and saw like 40 vehicles on dewitt and was like forget it and went to my second spot....only problem with the game wardens around there is that right now its hunting season so they really dont worry bout the fisherman. every year i dont see a cpo untill after hunting season is over then you will see them 4-5 times a day.
Nice mess--drive an extra 20 minutes and get a limit at shelbyville!!!!!!

it's nice to see that walleye.i have not fished much for them yet,but i'm gonna try for em sometime next week.i did get a 10 incher the other day along with some small stripers.another guy caught 3 eyes all to small, but at least there are still some left.

nice looking catch there, walleye will taste great. And those whites, my lord those are HUGE!!! If you could catch them that size or close to it, id spend a day or two trying just for them

i had to double check them whites to make sure they werent small hybrids. they were darn near 20 inches. ive fished clinton alot and those are probably the 2 biggest whites ive seen
