    Default Shelbyville 11/22/08

    Hey all

I took a friend of mine fishing today at Shelbyville . We put in at Whitley Creek and headed up the lake . It was a little chilly around 24 degrees and the wind was blowing around 5 to 10 mph. out of the south east . When we got to where we wanted to fish there was ice on the water . We broke the ice and started fishing . 1 hour and 5 minutes later we had 2 limits . We stayed for about 3 1/2 hours and ended up with more than 5 limits for the day . Water temp was 32.6 degrees . Best colors was red/chartuse and chartruse 2 inch tubes fished 8 to 9 feet down . It can't get to much better . Forcast for the rest of the week don't look to bad I may have to get back over there . See ya Kevin ><)))*>

I can attest to how good it was. I met Kevin and Hoss around 10 and we had a limit in less than an hour. We had several 12's and the biggest was almost 13.75. The ice was not a good thing and it would freeze in again after the boat would go through.

Nice to meet you Shild. That standing timber you were telling me about is really a fish magnet.

Thanks, Roger! They are definitely good stick-ups. Usually hold a few fish. Sure was cold today! Amazing how you don't notice it as much when the fish are biting. I fished around Findlay bridge a little and caught a bunch of short fish. Wind made it not fun!

    Default Went Back Down Lake

Fished up around Whitley yesterday and boy was it cold. 13 degrees when we put in and 23 when we took out. We didn't fair as well as I have been so today went down and put in at Ninth St. and fished high banks to get out of wind. We had almost five limits by lunch off just a couple of trees. Water temp warmer down there still 40 degrees. Fishe are smaller on south end but hey I am back catching a ton of fish. Going back south again tomorrow.

That settles it --if I get up the courage to go --I,m going south end --can,t bear the thought of breaking ice to fish--besides some one said you have to hold the jig real still--with me shaking theres no way --
