kickapoo never closed nor any of the others. they just moved closure date back till end of november. s basically we have 1 week till they all close barring a miracle.. i want my kickapooo darn it.
Can anyone tell me why they chose Wolf Creek?? It seemed to be far busier than all the other state parks on the lake. It's far better camping there than Eagle Creek.
From what I can tell camping is down everywhere--what with $4 a gallon of gas this summer. But Wolf Creek???
Hey all
I found this small article on the web .
11/22/08 - BREAKING NEWS: HIDDEN SPRINGS, WOLF CREEK STILL CLOSING NOVEMBER 30TH - Click here to print this information
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Even though the Illinois Legislature found some 200-million dollars to restore some of Governor Rod Blagojevichs state budget cuts, including 24 state parks and recreation areas, the Governor announced late Friday that only 4 of those parks will remain open, and none of those are in Central Illinois.
That means Weldon Springs State Recreation Area near Clinton, Moraine View State Park near LeRoy, Hidden Springs State Forest at Strasburg, and Wolf Creek State Park on Lake Shelbyville, will all close as scheduled on November 30th.
13 state historic state sites will also close on November 30th.
Petition drives have been held around the state, to try and keep the state parks, recreation areas, and historic sites open, but to no avail.
The Governors office said late Friday night that economic conditions are forcing the closings.
See ya Kevin ><)))*>

Excellent
If its the economic factors.....maybe Blago should live in Springfield instead of flying back and forth everyday or..........BETTER YET, let everything north of I-80 become its own state and then we could actually benefit from the taxes we so eagerly give the state.
