    Default OT- Shotgun Opener

I blew it for the big one or "freak nasty" as I call him. Set up my stand at 5:30. All that happened untill seven was me getting more and more frozen. At 7:02 or so a big doe walked by at 15 yards, seriously though about taking her. But though to myself the rut is on, buck should be close by... she grazed in the field 30 yards from me for 15-20 minutes. She kept looking at the other side of the field, sure enough, out pops another doe...not 15 yards behind this does was the freak! He comes limping out to mid field chasing the does everywhere. Stops at 50-60 yards and I shot under him He kinda trots off about 20 more yards then looks around like did something just happen? Then ran off to catch the does again.

Called my dad to tell him the story and for some reason the phone call was lost. Put my phone away and looked to my left and here comes another buck. Comes down the trail, makes a scrape, pees on it, takes couple more steps...15 yards BAM! Perfect shot, just a basket 6 pointer but pretty good body on him. Make some REALLLLLLLLLY good jerky and loins! Called dad again and I couldnt talk to him because of my shaking, I LOVE deer hunting!:D

Will hopefully post some pictures later. I have till Jan 15th to get "freak nasty" now...and ill spend veryday I can tryin! Maybe fishin a time or two inbetween...:D

hey Tyler....nice kill. Only seen 7 does today...big ones though. Went to the lake and got my limit over the lunch hour. Just a bit harder to catch and water temp was 36. Its fun to pull the boat to your hunting spot knowing that the day can't be a total loss...

I shot a doe early and then the younger one shot and nicked a small 8, looked for a couple hours ,,,no luck. during all this my older son calls and says he shot a doe, I told him that the stand he was in, gets better, later on in the morning and to STAY THERE. He calls about 10 minutes later and has a dandy buck on the ground. He was in the stand I shot the buck from on tuesday. while we were dragging out my doe, the boy says he hears something and we look to our left and the big 10 we have been hunting all fall is watching us at 25 feet. of course it runs before he could shoot. then, as I was trailing his buck ANOTHER big 8 walks right out under one of my stands within 45 yards of me. those dang deer KNOW I don't have a buck tag left.all cut up and in the freezer by 730 my new savage muzzleloader is awesome 95 yards and it left an inch and a half hole. never took a step

wtg birdman, you'll get a shot at the freak!a friend and I was out this morning and we saw 14 does all around us,1 came in right in front of us,10 yards, passed on it.we have been watching a huge 12 pointer with a drop tyne, for the past couple of weeks, but he hasn't come in close enough.didn't see him today, but the day is comin, believe me.left the woods and dropped a line in for a bit.got 5 keepers 11 to 12 1/2 inches, then came home, cleaned em up,went to work.

my friend went out again this afternoon and dropped a nice doe.gonna hit it again in the mornin.good luck to ya bird on mr. nasty!!
