Thread: Shelbyville 10-17

Took my dad fishing on Monday. We put in at the Whitley Creek Ramp. This was my first time fishing this area near the Whitley boat ramp. Was expecting a good bite. But was disappointed. We ended up with 2 fish in about 4 hrs. Tried a little bit of everything. Brush piles, laydowns, standing timber, shallow ~ 2-3', deeper ~10-12'. It was cold and windy with a little snow mixed in so that didn't help much either. Water temp was right around 40F. We fished some in Whitley creek. Is anyone having luck in Whitley? Seems odd fishing in such a shallow location without the spawn.
Then we tried a couple coves near Bo Wood.

Don't give up . Whitley is a great area to fish . I was up in that area Sunday afternoon and had a great day . You have to hold the jig fairly still or they won't hit it . It works for me at least . A lot of times this time of year I've caught my limit in a foot of water or less .
