Anybody killed any nice bucks with thier bow this week. I have seen some really nice ones but no shots yet. I sure wish the wind would quit suppose to blow hard tommorow, oh well a guys only got a couple f days till gun season, then there won't be near as many nice ones. I killed a dandy this morning. It has 12 points and I am not sure of all the measurements, but I came up with 151 inches. if I can get my son to figure out how to post the pic I will.

I can say on the way home from work I have been seeing some nice bucks hanging close to the does. Tonight I seen one with his nose to the ground and another one standing with two does. I wish I would have gotten my tags this year. But instead I think I will fish this weekend than go around and see how everyone has done. Good luck to those that are gun hunting and be safe.

Finally put my crappie poles down and got my bow out and went this last Sunday. Took my oldest boy with me and we sat in my Double Bull blind. I was wanting to shoot a doe and fill my antlerless tag. This place we hunt is loaded with them and they need thinned out. Sat there for about 30 min when one came in and gave me a quartering away shot. I judged the yardage wrong thought she was at 30 yards but she was 40 shot right under her and lost my dang arrow. It's bad when you have a range finder and still miss judge the yardage. She was standing beyond a tree that I had ranged so I thought it was 30, well she was standing a little further than I thought. Oh well thats the way it goes.
Taking my boys this gun season. Not lookin for anything big we will take does if we get the chance. We have all killed nice bucks in the last few years so it does not matter to me. The does need to be thined out any way. But we will shoot a huge buck if given the chance.

Enjoy the time out with your boys, I have a daughter that I have tried to get to go with me, but no luck yet. I do enjoy this weekend hunting with my wife tho.(she's a better shot than I am) and all my other hunting buddies let me know it.

Where I hunt I saw 6 different smaller bucks untill Sunday morning when I saw their daddy I beleive, he was about 45 yards and limping badly on the back leg. That makes 7 different bucks. Yesterday evening, my friend who hunts the same little area about 50 yards from me showed me a video he took that evening of a buck that I belive to be the grandpa!!! He didnt limp either so I know its a different deer. 8 Bucks with 2 giants named freak nasty and big kahuna lol! Hope to get a shot at the bigguns friday morning, got a cough might miss school

I have that same cough, I might have to miss work.

Heck, in Shelbyville, half my class already had me sign excused absence forms, cause they know they're gonna be gone....My rule is that any student or player who misses my class or practice to hunt owes me deer sticks if they get one!
