Never saw a fishing boat all day. Just three duck boats ventured out. It rained and the wind howled but we had my best day this year for big fish. I find that it always is the worst days that I get the big ones. We had 43 over by my count and too many shorts to keep track of. Wilborn boat ramp on north. Jigs both under slip corks and tightlined. No deeper than five feet. Pictured is my happy clients with our limit and also a picture of a thirteen and three-quarter inch fish and a fourteen and a quarter inch. Figured we had eight pounds or better for seven fish today as we had several twelve inch fish. Back at it next three days then off water for three then back at it four more days.
One word: PIGS! Just plain pigs right there...Screw the ribeye, you will get some serious crappie steaks off of those!! Nice catch...

Nice fish
Nice Crappie. I am jealous. I went for firewood today instead of fishing. It was a great day for firewood, but I would rather have been on the lake catching slabs like those. Thanks for sharing
for a guy that fishes tournaments, I am shocked that you are cutting those pigs! You know as well as I do that those fish will make you money and the 11's won't. I have often said it, I don't CUT anything over 11, unless it was weighed in.....and I'm not killing 2-3 hundred a week either...it hurts the lake

Now those are real crappie!, good job LSG![]()
I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it.
My guess would be there are millions of crappie in Shelbyville. 300 is not very many. Guiding on lakes is done on most big lakes.
Congratulations, Steve, keep up the good work. I am envious.
Heckuva catch, way to put those guys on some quality slabs. Keep them pictures coming!!!!!!
