wind , rain, sleet, caught roughly fifty crappie , mostly short ones, out of three of us we kept twelve, 9.50 to 10.00 inch, not like the boys down south but had a good time, i need to get hooked up with crappie x down there at rend and get some tips on how to catch those crappie, i used a 2inch twister on a 1/16jig with a pinch of nightcrawler, had minnows but they seemed to like worms. fished mostly the east end, fished mostly wind blown points and brush, not much of a report but it is the best i can do today.
nice catch buck...east end you mean across from the beach area? man the size has really fallen off..my brotehr is a regular there and i think we have taken all the bigguns out of there...

If you had weather like we had weather, (which it sounds like you did) then my hats off to ya for stickin it out. We hunted ducks today, (first day of youth season here) and it was windy and rainy,no sleat. Anyway, glad you caught some fish, havn't seen too many catch big crappie like CX.
There are quite a few guys that get quality fish on a regular basis. The past 2 days i've been out with my son and limited twice, and had 8 out of 20 fish that were 12 inches plus.1 went 13 1/8.I'm just not one to post much. All from the bank in 9 foot of water. My boy had 13 keepers in 2 days with 2 12 inches plus and 5 that were 11 to 11 3/4.Ya don't have to be an expert, just be in the right place at the right time. That's usually the case 99% of the time.Caught all of em on a 1/48oz jig/tube.That was in lake decatur.Good ol fashioned bank fishin,no gps,or other AID,just walkin rocks and such, workin hard, snaggin up,and catching fish.Nothin better....
"It's not the size of the jig,It's how you use it!!"
angler73 sounds like your still doing great, keep it up, evergreen has always been one of those lakes that when i go it makes me realize how much help i need on learning how to fish for crappie or how little i know, i have gone there and felt lucky to get a bite let alone catch a fish, i know if crappie x or lakeshelbyville guide would come up to evergreen they would do great , i know theres big crappie in the lake. i think that the reason i keep going there is i know the lakes gets the best of me everytime i go. thats another reason i like this sight, to pick up on tips that might improve my fishing, i often wonder what there aproach is to getting the nice fish they get down south and wonder if it would work at evergreen. my plans next year is to get on there list for a guided trip, crappie x or lake shelbyville guide have you guys ever fished evergreen? if so how did you do?
Those two guys and Birdman catch fish in the parking lot-- Come on Frank - you know that is true only during high water and the lot is flooded. lol
