    Default Ice 2/1

Girlfriend and I hit a local pond for a few hours. Got probably around 30-40 gills and 3 bass. Kept 11 big bull gills for dinner tonight! Girlfriend actually caught as many as I, and of course, the biggest lol
Ice was very very thin. 2.5-4 inches. Make sure your wearing a saftey device or something if you go out and be safe!

Nice bluegills! How do you get the picture in the post? I wanted to post some pics of my ice fishing adventure but I cannot figure out an easy way to put the picture in the post.

    thanks for the pics.

hey fishinman- get photobucket and click on "my albums" once you get there. Click browse and get your picture. Hit upload picture/pictures. Once its uploaded copy the bottom link and just paste it on a thread. It will show up as a bunch of lettering and stuff but once you post it the picture will show up. Might hit preview post first to make sure. I think thats the right sequence anyway!!!

Thats a nice catch Birdman. But I'm not big on the ice fishn. We don't get a lot of thick ice so I will just wait until what we do have is gone in a day or so. If I knew it would be good to be on then I might try it. You guys get a little more than we do.
Keep catchin them any way you can.

Nice mess of gills Birdman, glad to see ya post-en again. Don't do much ice fishing anymore, just not enough safe ice around here like there use to be, I'm not complaining Lake is all open on the south end except for some of the coves, boat ramp is all open at ninth street. I will probably have to shovel the ramp off and put some salt down to put the boat in tomorrow, still beats ice fishing for me.... Fishfryed

fishfryed thats crazy! I never understood why the lake freezes up solid early then once it thaws it seems the south end never re freezes??? Im going to try a pond in allenville tomorrow for some gills and crappies since the pond i was at today didnt have crappie in it. But tomorrow I will have rope tied to me and a tree on shore. Fill us in on shelby if you go

CX- must be nice living in that warmer climate down there 2 hours away! Im very skiddish about the ice as well, but fishin is fishin I suppose. Wouldnt matter if we had open water anyway without a boat kinda sucks

Thanks Birdman. Here are my pics from a couple of weeks ago.

Note the water all around the boat. We had about 3 inches of water on top of the ice. It really wasnt thick enough for a man my size to be on. Also the rope is tied to my buddies truck bumber, in case we needed a quick way off the ice.
