Default Someone needs to speak up.

Ok, someone needs to speak up about this site. This is gettin boring. Someone needs to put some good posts on here. I know it's cold out and most of the lakes are still froze over but that is no excuse. :D. Just kiddn.
This weather is gettin rediculious. Now the comercial fisherman are gettin ready to start doin what they do so they will be breakin what ice is left in the boat ramp areas on Rend. We could fish if we could get to the open water but the boat ramps are all still froze some what. They are sayin it is going to get in the 60's this week so that will be a big help.
I am ready to get back to catchin. Went to Egypt with Clint and our buddy Chris the other day so Clint could run his new boat. Ran the boat and tried fishn but we don't know the lake that well. But you can bet I am going to figure it out very soon.
Hope everyone is able to get back out on the water soon.

    CX.

I know there is not a lot to do when it like this outside. I know a lot of you out there are surley makin some kind of crappie sets. Clint and I have been makin lots of good stake beds and have lots to put out as soon as we can. I have not taken any pictures of the recent ones we built the last couple of days but I will, and I will post them on this thread to help get everyone fired up. I should have taken the picture last night but I forgot.
So maybe tomorrow I can get some pictures on here of the sets.
Oh and "NO" there will be no GPS cords. LOL.
So come on all you crappie heads lets see the crappie sets.

a dumb question but I am just curious, what type of fish do the commercial fisherman catch and what are their limits? It seems to me that they could really hurt the fishing on any given lake

Hey Grumpa, these guys catch Buffalo and Carp. They fer sure don't hurt anything. They acually help because they catch so many. They don't have any limits but they do catch a lot of them. Some of them have boats the have 1/4" hulls so they don't have to worry about the ice. They also have tiller handle 150's on their boats. You should see these boats.
A buddy of mine has a huge boat and puts a dent in the population every year. Except this year he is going to be to busy at his regular job so he cant fish.

    Default It's Cold!!!!

Hey CX, I'm up here by Champaign and it is just cold and snowy. Wish I had a bunch of tales o tell but I always come to this site because I don't. Unlike you Southern boys I find it hard to get out more than a couple times a week and that is when it is warm. Our ice has came & gone for the past month. I'm planning to head to Table Rock the first of March & First of April but all I can do right now is count the days until then. I am envious of all you guys that have the ability to get to go & have a lake close. Up here the closest lake is about a 45 minute drive. Most people like Clinton Lake & Shelbyville but I just get spoiled going to Sam Parr at Newton and Stephen Forbes at Kinmundy. A couple more years until retirement and maybe fishing will be the priority. Keep the post and pics coming, it makes it worth turning the computer on.
