Fryed, by the looks of the newer docks and the steam coming off the water that sure looks like sangchris. There sure are alot of 25 hp motors. These guys do a good job with the stake beds down there, I have caught alot of nice crappie off of the 10 or so fields I have found. I am not sure if the warden was sanctioning that drop but there is a lot of money in the condo. My boss would kill me if he saw me using all the ys and 4" out of the yard, haha. I am an electrician anyways and those are plumbing fittings so a yard is missing some somewhere.

The pics are from a project done by the Springfield Crappie Club. If you go to Springfieldcrappieclub.com you can see all of the stuff. I believe there was over 150 pieces put in. Funding was from Volunteers, IDNR Fisheries and Dominion Power Plant. The warden helped build and deposit the structure on his days off. It was done with the approval of all involved. The problem with "mid night drops" is that it can and does become navigation hazards if placed in traffic areas or is not anchored correctly. Unfortunatly... trash is sometimes used and can cause real problems.
Be smart... contact the local fisheries biologist, show him/ what you are doing. You will most likely get some good advice/ideas and their approval. Maybe some assistance and money to help to boot. Ask Kincade..or JCD about the bamboo stuff they put in farther south. IDNR helped with boats and everything.

Thanks for all the information PieEye, I was thinking the same thing as sparky197 when I seen the new docks that it might be Sangcris. Someone had e-mailed me those pics. sometime ago, didn't know exactly were they come from but I knew someone would. Does the Springfield Crappie Club do this every year and also do they have any maps or gps locations on this spots that one might get his hands on.![]()

The gps coordinates may be obtained from the site office. I can tell you that they are not all correct. I believe that all those who helped may not have been familiar with GPS. Alot them are close but some will put you in another city.
The club did it one year there. Not sure if any more projects are scheduled..., but it can be brought up at their meeting this month. If the anal openings around Lake Springfield would allow fishing near the shore... They may have gotten alot more stuff over there. Some of those treasured "black nose" crappie went in there and are showing up in live wells. We have a biologist that wants to help the fishing in the area and that's very good for everybody. I think Clinton is going to get some ( fish) also.

Thanks, I will stop in the site office next time over and pick up the gps coordinates and see if I can find some of the sets, or some new town I have never been inSounds like the black nose are being taken to other lakes for restocking purposes. I bet that goes over real good with all the local boys that fish that lake. Haven't been over this winter yet, but I'm sure I will soon with the lake starting to freeze up here.
