Talking Good way to end the year.

Got these today on a private lake. Interesting story. My subdivision was built on an old horse farm. When we moved into this nieghborhood, I was told by some locals that this was the best crappie lake around. However, when the developers took over, only residents of the nieghborhood were allowed to fish here. Since there are mostly white collar people here, no one would think of killing a fish much less eating it (other than in stick form or sushi). Anyway, The lake became overpopulated. Three years ago I took about 250 8.75-9.25 inch crappie out of this lake with my fly rod. Two years ago I took about 200 9.5-10 inch crappie out. This year I an starting to see a lot of crappie in the 10.5 to 11.5 range. This is only a 5-6 acre lake. This spring I plan to take 150 or so crappie out. I suspect I will start to see more 11-12 inchers this year. The blugill have respnded in the same fashon. I have also put out several PVC structures (at night of course). This has been a great project with a lot of good eating. I put on a lot of fish fries, but I don't dare tell anyone what I an doing. The locals were ticked about their spot beeing taken over and my nieghbors just would'nt understand. I have two youg sons who will one day enjoy my pet project. I will keep you all up-to-date on what is going on.
