    I'm using something like this, on both terminals, all batteries. Can usually get them at Auto parts store, farm and home stores, etc.
    For wires that comes in the sides, I cut a slit for them. I have more wires than will fit in the hole, cut it, taped around them to hold it on.

    This is news to me also....Both my batteries are in plastic battery box's with the correct lids....is this good enough or do I still need to cover the post?

    Battery boxes are good. They keep something from falling on the post and arcing out.
