    Default Kentucky or Reel foot

Im headed to either Kentucky Lake or Reel foot April 8th for a few days.
And have never been to either, so dont know anything about them.

    Im after size not numbers.

What lake is better for size ?
You people that have been to either one of these lakes, can you give me some advise as to where to start ?

    Ramps near better areas ?
    Style of fishing ?

What lake do you reccomend for someone thats never been there before ?

    Thanks, Manny

If your going for size and have a boat, then Head for Mississippi. The reports that you see on here dont do it justice. It is just a little bit farther than them lakes, but well worth the drive. Sardis, Grenada, and Arklubutla are the lakes that I have fished down there. Not only are the crappie bigger there, but the numbers are also there. We mainly spider rig when were down there, but also have had success jigging. Good Luck in your decision and between reelfoot and kentucky lake, I personally like reelfoot.

I have never been to Reelfoot, but I have caught some very nice fish on Kentucky Lake. Like jiggin4crappie said you won't have any trouble finding places to fish.

    Thanks, People

    Looks like Kentucky....

I have been using 1.5 inch jigs but lost a nice one the other day at the boat.

I then went to Bass pro and picked up some 2 and 3 inch jigs. Bigger hooks also.

What size do you reccomend for trolling / spider rigging ?

If you are going to be trollin with jigs I would recomend Bobby Garland Strollr's. I've caught a lot of fish trolling with those. If you are jiggin I like a 3/32 Teezur jig head with a 2 inch midsouth tube or an umbrella tube on Kentucky Lake.

    Default Ky

Been fishing KY lake for the past 10 April's, threw in some MS along the way and my brother has done Reelfoot. His trip to Reelfoot is actually what lead us to KY lake. Reelfoot is a mine field of stups, shallow but loaded with brim and crappies I've been told.

Paris Landing for us Buchanan Resort. Overall quality experience, not MS sized crappie but more pleantiful and easier to hunt. Spider, cork, tight line casting it's all on when they are spawning. Check out Kentucky Lake Outdoor Guide

. Solid reports out of Paris Landing resort.
