    KENTUCY LAKE!

I live on KY Lake, and I have days where I can catch around 100 crappie in 1 day.

I have a few spots where I can catch 25 to 30 bass every morning also.

Try fishing from Highway 79 south

Fish the Tennessee portion of KY Lake, it is less pressured, and has more shallow coves that warm faster, so the fish bite faster.

    Good Luck.
I live 10 miles from the 160,000 acre Kentucky Lake, and the 57,000 acre Barkley Lake is within 25 miles of my house. I live 10 miles from 220,000 acres of Water.

I live in an Outdoor Paradise

Manny, The group of guys I fish with have been going to Reelfoot every spring for 6 years. We have had mixed results as has to be expected. We considered changing lakes this year to KY but opted to stick it out and continue our endevors at the Foot. I really like Reelfoot due to the lack of distractions. There is NO recreational boating or commercial traffic and no nightlife on land to get in the way of the pure pursuit of fishing. The scenery is phenomenal too. From the research I have done the lodging is cheaper at Reelfoot and the drive is a little easier depending on where you were planning to go on KY.

We're going to be down April 10 thru 13 staying at the Eaglenest Resort but from everything I've heard and read the crappie will still be at the other end of the lake. Some of the places at that end are the Blue Bank (very nice place), Boyette's Motel, Bo's Landing and Gooch's Resort.

As you have probably read here, vertical jigging is what is working now with the fish deep and tight to the bottom. I've never spider rigged but that is widely practiced and seems to be productive here. I've always used small jigs and done pretty well but I'm going to be trying a slightly bigger presentation this year to weed out the small and/or timid crappie. Of course minnows are always a staple.

Good luck with your decision and the fishing wherever you end up. If you decide to go to Reelfoot I may try to get a report from you when we get there if you don't mind.
My worst day of fishin' is still better than my best day at work!
