went to clinton today. wanted to get minnows but bait shop was not opened when i got there so i figured id try some jigs and see if i can catch a few ended up running smack dab into a school of hybrid stripers and went for them instead, i was catching them on my same jig 1/16th chart/redhead triple tail jig i use for crappie. there were a few people around me crappie fishing and they limited pretty quick. around 830 the wind switched around from dead north to the west and everything disapeared, i managed 3 crappie after i finished fishing for stripers anc caught bout 25 just short. still was a fun day after all.. pic is below

Hey,John, were you the one in the black coat standing next to me and my son?If so,it was nice meeting ya.It sure was a blast watching ya haul those stripers in.It's been quite sometime since i've seen stripers like that caught there. We used to hammer em there years ago, when the 10-12 lbers were plentiful.I ended up with 13 keeper crappie, biggest was 11 inches on the dot.

Hey you Clinton guys, were you fishing from the bank? If so, at the Dwitt bridge? I used to fish Clinton alot back in the 80's, but haven't been in years. Used to really love to troll for Hybrids, hard fightn' fish. Might go after Christmas if I didn't have to bother with a boat.
fishing off the dewitt bridge from the bank, the hybrids seem to only get close with a good north wind. no worries bout a boat, there basically useless this time of year since between the dewitt and rt 48 bridge is closed to boat traffic... they will be turning off the hot water discharge on jan 11th so if your gonna go it should be before then.
Those are some dandies. Great pic
