I currently have an Eagle locator or finder and it works very well. I am looking at adding a second side finder locator to the rig.
What is the experience with this and how well do they work and do you like IT? A lot in that sentence.
Going to Florida again this year and the shallow water along the Kissimmee River in the Cypress trees and lily pads, may help us to locate fish as the river is featureless.
Any knowledge you can impart will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Pepper.
I run a Lowrance x51 pro on the bow, I think it's the same as eagle, and a Humminbird 788c at the helm. I would have serious hesitations about leaving the dock without the humminbird. Without the GPS, It would take me hours to find my way back to the dock, but that's just me. I get lost easy.
Eagle, Lowrance, Humminbird, etc. I've never had a unit I've really been unhappy with, but I do really like Humminbird.
By side finder do ya mean sumthin like one of H-bird's side imager? If so, I'd recommend at least a 900 series and good pair o glasses to view it. That lilly padded cypress infested river might not be as featureless as you think. The SI's show lay down stuff real well, even in thick weeds / shallow water. Worst thing for the side imager is boat speed over 7mph, thick bait fish and mud bottoms. Yup, they are expensive...but, ya only die once, might as well catch em fore that happens.

I do pretty well with my 798... could probably do better with a 900, but only had the money for a 700, Got about 80 spots on Lake Shelbyville since I bought it in April this spring, once I got it I just watched for reports on here as far as patterns and then ran that pattern where I could find on lake maps and the old fashioned memory, it lead to one of the most successful years of fishing I have ever had!
